CM visits rain-affected areas
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that his government would address all the reservations raised by Ministry of Interior to including a certain number of Madars in the list of first schedule.
He said this while talking to media during his five- hour extensive visit of rain-affected areas of the city today. He was accompanied by provincial ministers, Jam Khan Shoro, Syed Nasir Shah, Mukesh Chawla and Imdad Pitafi.
Talking about the plight of the city after receiving continuous downpour, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that he would not term it satisfactory but" it is comparatively better now because the cleaning of nala and removal of Encroachments has been made, he had visited Picher Nala near airport and Gujar Nala which were flowing smoothly.
It was a gigantic task to remove encroachment from Gujjar Nala and Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro has done a wonderful job for which he must be appreciated.
Replying to a question he said he was in touch with Mayor of Karachi. " He is on streets and I am also visiting city to review disposal of rain water accumulated onto the streets and roads," he said and added the Mayor has enough powers to serve the people of Karachi. It was quite surprising that every time he is being asked about the powers of Mayor. The assembly has given him powers and he should serve the people and he is doing his best. "I am supporting him and today I invited him to join me in the trip but he was working in some other areas," he said.
There were some traffic issues because roads are being reconstructed. "Instead of appreciating some people are criticizing the government for carrying out development in the city. This shows that are not opposing us but they are actually opposing the people of Karachi and Karachiites must recongnise them," he said.
